St. Matthew's Church pastor to leave in March

Dear St. Matthew’s,

As I sit at my desk to write this letter I am filled with bittersweet emotions. For the past three and a half years, I have served as your pastor. We have partnered together for the work of the gospel. Gathered weekly for worship. Spent times of fellowship both inside and outside the walls of the church. We built upon a vision that was born before I arrived as we opened the Purple Fish Coffee Company to our community. We have mourned together the loss of loved ones and celebrated as we have baptized and welcomed new members to the church. It has been an honor to serve as your pastor.

As the Lord called me to St. Matthew’s, He has now called me to go out into the mission field with the Coalition for Christian Outreach (CCO). My last Sunday serving at St. Matthew’s will be March 3rd.

My new position is Regional Director of the South with the CCO. The CCO is a non-denominational college ministry organization that has been based in Pittsburgh, Penn., for 45 years. They partner with the local church for the transformation of college students by the gospel. They actively pursue God’s multi ethnic kingdom as they share the gospel, which transforms students’ lives, their relationships, vocations, and communities.

Thank you for welcoming my family and me into your church body over the past several years. Know that we will be praying for y’all in this season of transition and ask for your prayers as our family transitions into this new ministry.

Blessings,
Hunter C. Jordan
