Weekly Update City of Darlington

Monday

Teen Programs are held at 5 p.m. Mondays at the Darlington Library. 843-398-4940

Darlington County Council meets at 6 p.m. at the Courthouse Annex, 1625 Harry Byrd Hwy., Darlington.

 

Tuesday

The DDRA Board of Directors will meet at the Darlington Library, 204 N. Main St., at 8 a.m. on the first Tuesday of the month, except in July and September. 

After School Club will be held at the Darlington Library at 4 p.m. each Tuesday during the school year. 843-398-4940

Darlington City Council will hold its regular monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 400 Pearl St., Darlington. Info: 843-398-4000

The Darlington County Historical Commission will meet at 10 a.m. on the first Thursday of the month at 204 Hewitt St., Darlington.

Friday

The City of Darlington Arbor Day Ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Raceway Inn, 705 Washington Street.

Join Darlington Recreation for a trip to Myrtle Beach Aquarium on Friday, Dec. 7. Depart at 10 a.m. and return by 6 p.m. Cost is $30. Lunch is on your own. Must pre-register. 843-398-4030

The Darlington County Coordinating Council will meet at 11:30 a.m. at Medford Nursing Center. 

The Free Will Baptist Bible Church is hosting a Parents’ Night Out on Friday, December 7, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the church. Cost is $10 per child. They will have bible study, games, snacks, and more! Money raised will go towards our mission trip to Honduras! Parents: this is the perfect opportunity to go Christmas shopping or even just have a date night!

 

Saturday

Darlington High School students will pack and distribute food during Old People’s Christmas starting at 8 a.m. Dec. 8.

Yahweh Marriage Ministry of Darlington presents a Night with My Love at 6 p.m. Dec. 8 at Bethel AME Church Fellowship Hall, 1333 S. Sunday

 

Darlington First Church of God will host a musical celebration of "All that is Christmas" in this worship event. The community is invited. Admission is a non-perishable item to benefit the local food pantry, The Lord Cares. Doors open at 4:30 PM Sunday, Dec. 9, with open seating at the church, 620 N. Gingerbread House Workshop: 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, sponsored by The Friends of the Darlington Library. Desi Conrad, a local expert in gingerbread construction & design, will be our guide throughout the whole process. Space is limited, so make sure to reserve your spot early. The cost is $20 per house, and the proceeds will go towards additional programming and supplies for the Darlington Library. Candy will also be provided to adorn your culinary castle with colorful baubles (or not...the choice is yours). Info: 843-398-4940

Holiday Sweet Swap: Prepare at least 2 dozen holiday treats (cookies, bars, cupcakes, pie slices, etc.) and bring them to the Darlington Library to swap and share recipes at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19. Info: 843-398-4940
