July 10 - Family Fellowship (Terence Lonon & The Untouchables will perform) Thanks to the generous contributions of the City of Darlington, the Darlington Downtown Revitalization Association will be able to hold a free Concert Series in 2021. The concerts will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturdays on the Public Square with a different theme each month. Vendors Saturday include Sweet Chillin' Shaved Ice, Dave's Backyard BBQ, George's Funnel Cakes, Hot Dog We Did It, and Pee Dee Chamber of Commerce. SCACED Landowner Resources Workshop series continues at 5:30 p.m. July 6 and provides landowners and producers the opportunity to learn about USDA-NRCS funding programs, methods to increase profitability, how start an agricultural business, Agri-heritage tourism, and conservation planning. USDA staff will be on-hand to help guide landowners through and answer questions about the EQIP application process. All Landowner Workshops will be held virtually in 2021. Limited capacity. Darlington Raceway will host a blood drive with the Palmetto South Carolina Region of the American Red Cross on Friday, July 23, from noon to 6 p.m. The blood drive to support the state of South Carolina will be hosted in the Jim Hunter Media Center in the historic Darlington infield. All blood drive participants will receive a lap in the track's Chevrolet Camaro Pace Car around the track Too Tough To Tame. Members of the community wanting to donate blood will need to sign up online at redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). Use the code "DarlingtonRaceway" in the Find a Blood Drive field on the homepage. Darlington blood drive participants should enter the facility through Gate 39A, proceed through the vehicular tunnel and follow signs to the Jim Hunter Media Center.
