The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program will offer FREE Nutrition Classes to adults younger than 50 at the Darlington Library, 204 N. Main St., at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays: May 21 (Meet at Mozingo Building, 300 Russell St.), June 4, and June 11. Space is limited. Info: 843-398-4940.

The City of Darlington will dedicate the Our Pat Building in memory of Chief James C. (Jim) Stone at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 26, at the property on Cashua Street.

Darlington Presbyterian Church will host college-age students from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at The Purple Fish Coffee Company, 110 W. Hampton St., for free food, fellowship, praise, and worship. This summer Bible study for college-age students (young adults who are college-age, whether they are in college or not) will be held each Sunday night from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at The Purple Fish Coffee Company from May 19 through August. City and County offices will be closed in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 27.

Mark Your Calendars

City Council meets at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, at City Hall for a budget work session.

The South Carolina 4-H Sporting Clays Tournament will be held on May 31 at the National Wildlife Turkey Federation Palmetto Shooting Complex in Edgefield.  Funds raised are used to provide opportunities for South Carolina youth to participate in premier national 4-H events including National 4-H Congress and National 4-H Conference as well as our educational scholarships.   Go to www.clemson.edu/4h and click on Event Registration link to register.  

Darlington Recreation is accepting teams for the Adult Softball League for those ages 16 with parents’ permission and older. Fee is $200 and a case of league balls. Register by June 6 at Harmon Baldwin Recreation Center, 300 Sanders St., Darlington. Info: 843-398-4030

SC 4-H Summer Camp at Camp Long in Aiken June 16 at 3pm - June 20 at 1pm $280 for current 4-Hers, $290 for non-members (military discount available) Ages 7-14. Limited space. Deadline May 31. Topics include leadership, science, and healthy lifestyles plus swimming, canoeing, high adventure elements, nature hikes, team sports, shooting sports, games, skits, campfires, dance, and talent show. A limited number of scholarships for first-time campers who meet financial need requirements are available.
