Monday

Teen Programs are held at 5 p.m. Mondays at the Darlington Library. 843-398-4940

Darlington County School District Board of Education meets at 6 p.m. in the training room of the administrative office, 120 E. Smith Ave., Darlington.

Alcoholics Anonymous holds an open meeting at 8 p.m. Mondays at Trinity United Methodist Church, 126 Pearl Street. Use the Orange Street entrance. Info: 843-395-6897

Free Exercise Classes will be held at 9 a.m. most Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at the Harmon Baldwin Recreation Center, 300 Sanders St., Darlington. Info: 843-398-4030

The Williamson Park Committee meets at 5:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month at Harmon Baldwin Recreation Center, 300 Sanders St.

Wednesday

The Toys 4 Golf Tournament will be held on December 12th at Darlington Country Club. It is a four-man, captain's choice format. To enter, bring a new toy that we can donate to Toys 4 Tots. If you can't play in the tournament, you can still feel free to donate to a great organization. Tee time is 12 noon.

Manufirst SC Information Session: Corporate and Workforce Development will begin registering students for both day and evening classes at these sessions at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 11 and at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 12 in room 235 of the SiMT, located on FDTC’s main campus in Florence. The Mayo High School for Math, Science, and Technology Music Department presents a Christmas Concert, Sounds of the Season, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at the school gymnasium. Admission is $5.

This Wednesday Dec. 12th at 7 p.m., St. Matthew's Church will have a traditional Advent Lessons and Carols led by Dr. Carswell and our Choir at 210 S. Main St. Please join us as we prepare to receive the Christ Child. A reception will follow.

American Legion Post 13 meets at 6 p.m. the second Thursday of each month at the Post on Harry Byrd Highway next to the S.C. National Guard Armory. A meal is served with a monthly meeting that follows. Members, eligible veterans, and active National Guard and Reserve personnel are invited to attend.

Darlington Cruisers Club meets for food and fellowship at 6:00 pm with the meeting starting at 7:00 pm at Joe's Grill, 306 Russell St. Not a member and interested in joining? Stop by the meeting for an application.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town at 6 p.m. Dec. 13 at Fahrenheit 225, 26 Public Square.

Christmas Market: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at Trinity United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 126 Pearl St. Santa arrives at noon! Free face painting, free admission, and free coloring station for the kids. There are still a few spots available for vendors. Apply here.

Yoga for Beginners at the first and third Saturday of the month from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Darlington Library, 204 N. Main St.

The Darlington Library Book Club meets the third Saturday of each month from noon to 1 p.m. Stop by the library to pick up each month's selection.

 

Sunday

Gingerbread House Workshop: 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, sponsored by The Friends of the Darlington Library. Desi Conrad, a local expert in gingerbread construction & design, will be our guide throughout the whole process. Space is limited, so make sure to reserve your spot early. The cost is $20 per house, and the proceeds will go towards additional programming and supplies for the Darlington Library. Candy will also be provided to adorn your culinary castle with colorful baubles (or not...the choice is yours). Info: 843-398-4940

TitleMax is celebrating the season by hosting a Toy Drive benefiting the children and families in our community. We invite you to visit our store through December 14 and show your support. Toy donations/ contributions are appreciated, but not required. There is no limitation on the amount or type of toys that can be donated, we just ask they are suitable for children up to the age of 12 years old. Toys can be dropped off at our location anytime during regular business hours. Beginning Friday, November 23 through Saturday, December 22 our business hours will be extended:  Monday and Friday 9 AM to 8 PM, Tuesday - Thursday 9 AM to 7 PM, Saturday 10 AM to 4 PM, and closed Sunday.

Holiday Sweet Swap: Prepare at least 2 dozen holiday treats (cookies, bars, cupcakes, pie slices, etc.) and bring them to the Darlington Library to swap and share recipes at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19. Info: 843-398-4940

Join Darlington Recreation for a trip to Billy Graham Library on Wednesday, Dec. 19. Depart at 9 a.m. and return by 6 p.m. Cost is $10. Lunch is on your own. Must register one week prior. Info: 843-398-4030
